Wow...It's been a busy couple of weeks for DBL. I was lucky enough 2 stay on the mountain with my wolfie friends for a couple days, while Bill and AJ journeyed to Ohio to rescue Kyva and Autumn. I had an awesome time playing and working with the wolves. When I arrived Bill told me that Arue had actively been seeking out butt rubs from him, which amazed me and and made me hopeful to experience the same. Up until that point I had only been honored with being allowed to give head, neck, and shoulder rubs, and of course his big wonderful wet nose. When I approached the pen he, as always, poked me all over with his cold wet nose, then moved to walk away..or so I thought..Instead he looked over his shoulder at me, grinned and backed his fluffy butt up to the fence. He backed up so hard against the fence that his hair tufts floofed out between the wire. He let me scritch him all over while making noises of contentment. It was so incredilbly rewarding. It brings me such joy to see him so happy and healthy now. It is a far cry from the emaciated, boney, scared and lonely wolf that we rescued not so long ago. Back then, the night we met him, we could count the his ribs as he stood there. Now he is healthy and joyful soul who amazes me constantly, especially when he howls with his love for life, right down to his toes. Also while I was on the mountain, I was privilaged to see the meteor shower in all its glory. Ordinarily there are zillions of stars anyway, but for 2 nights I got see endless pink and blue shooting stars in a constant stream overhead. That, with the wolves softly singing in the background, made for a true, once in a lifetime experience. Bill and AJ arrived home in the wee morning hours, with our new friends. Kyva is an incredibly handsome old soul, and little Autumn is already a wonder to behold. She was as soft as a stuffed animal, but very busy and wiggly. She was sooo much fun, and I'm sure she will be a true ray of sunshine in our lives. They are a wonderful addition to our family. It is an incredibly unforgettable experience to watch a wolf cub grow into a grown wolf. It is a quick process, but also so amazing to watch their endless energy and curiousity. They are so smart, in so many ways, that it leaves me awestruck.
Last weekend we welcomed some new volunteers who helped us to get a good start on some of our winter preparations. Welcome to DBL Audrey, Brianna and ALexis. We really appreciate your pitching in! As always thank you to our board members and steady volunteers, who also helped. Want to also thank Apache Bob, Kim and crew for your hardwork this past weekend in completing the upper fencing for the wolves coming from Colebrook. Also for the large amount of wood that was cut. Heard Dan and Spencer were also on the mountain Saturday, and worked hard cleaning and filling food and water buckets. Thank you guys. Sorry I missed you and hope we get together soon. Heard I missed seeing you too, Karen. Maybe we will get to see each other this week when Arue goes into the vets for a few days. Just want to tell you all....Each and every one of us, is vital to DBL's success and we all bring a variety of talents to the mountain. It is AWESOME to see so many people coming together, for the good of the team, and all working together for the wolves. WOOOOOO! PEACE, LOVE, HUGS N HOWLS, YA'LL Have a great week!

It was a marvelous day and a lot of housekeeping chores got done.
Julie, Don & I were glad to help, and even happier to meet new volunteers. I hope they come back soon.
I know that another big work party is planned on December 6th. I wish we could be part of it, but we have another commitment that day.
Autumn & Kyva are wonderful new additions to the mountain.

Hi everyone,
Lliam and I had a great time last sunday. I know there is a lot of work still to do and hopefuly we can all pull together again and get it done. Im very proud of those of us that were there that we could put differences aside and work in a positive up beat atmosphere. That made for a great day all around. We need to keep this up being positive and thankful for any help gets more done than being negative and unproductive.

It was very nice to meet Debs sister and neice, also it was nice to meet the Grants daughter finally. S o to end as a friend of Dancing Brooke Lodge I'd like to thank Bill and Aj for having us up Sunday and thank everyone for the working together and getting so much done.

                                   Happy Thankgiving Everyone,

Wow! Love the Fudge Factory fudge! Great assortment of flavors, some I had never heard of! The Cappucino fudge was awesome. My husband loved the Scottish Whiskey fudge. Surprize! Our order totaled 2 pounds, and we got free shipping! Best of all, the wolves got 25% of our order.
You gotta try it!
